Welcome to the Gulf Savannah

The Gulf Savannah in Queensland’s north is a great place to visit – and also a great place to pick up seasonal work. Grazing properties and employers in our main towns are regularly looking for workers, especially between March and November.
We are hard working and resilient folk, and we welcome like-minded people to live, work and make new friendships in our unique part of the world.
The Gulf Savannah offers the visitor mile upon mile of bushland and open spaces, spectacular flora and fauna, changing landscapes, World Heritage fossil fields, historic towns, living indigenous culture, gemstones and gold. Our rivers and coastline offer some of the best fishing in the world, plus we have the natural phenomena of meandering river systems, hot springs, lava tubes and deep gorges full of wildlife.
We are a diverse region of developing economic importance with multi-million dollar mining operations, prosperous grazing and fishing industries, and strong tourism growth based on the Savannah Way adventure drive. There are also significant opportunities associated with irrigated agriculture. All major centres boast modern telecommunications with mobile phone services, broadband access, road and air access, schools and hospitals.
So take a look at some of the jobs on offer on the Jobs Galore page, or click on the links below for more information about our great part of northern Australia.
We look forward to welcoming you to the region.
