Invitation From The Quilpie Mayor
Are you interested in coming to work in a unique Australian location?
Are you interested in meeting friendly down to earth people where people are made welcome?
Are you interested in an Australian outback experience with plenty of things to see and do?
Do you have the skills and talents that we could use in our community?
On behalf of the citizens of Quilpie Shire, I would like to invite you to come to our area and live and work.
Over the last couple of years the Quilpie Shire participated in a project with Workabout Australia called the 'Trades Trek' where skilled workers were encouraged to come to Quilpie for short term work. This project was very successful with a number of people coming to Quilpie for varying periods of time. It was so successful that one Workabout Australia Club Member who was a diesel mechanic returned to Quilpie on three occasions to work.
The Quilpie Shire has now formed an alliance with Workabout Australia in an effort to continue to attract skilled and qualified labour to the area. The Council has agreed to a three year alliance and will during that time work to keep visitors to the Workabout Australia Website fully informed as to the local employment and business opportunities.
Our local Community Services Manager Monica James will be the local contact point for employment information. As a part of this project we will also endeavor to inform you of the tourist attractions and special events happening in and throughout the Shire.
I look forward to seeing you here
