Kauppila Pty Ltd are a diverse and award-winning construction and equipment hire business working in both residential, commercial (private and public) sectors on Kangaroo Island based out of dedicated modern facilities in Kingscote. Growing rapidly, we are diversifying our business and are looking for competent, enthusiastic, reliable, energetic, qualified and experienced tradespersons who will commit to join our close-knit team and play their part in delivering great building projects.

If you are looking for a role that will provide you the ability to contribute to the successful delivery of a wide range of projects – from small residential build to major commercial projects – then we have roles for you.

Ideally looking for full time but would consider 3 month + contracts for right skills, experience and fit.

Successful applicants for full time roles will be subject to 6 months’ probation period and eligible for a relocation allowance to move / live on the Island.

What’s in it for you?

Required Experience, Skills, and Qualifications

To be considered for this role you will need to be fully licensed and agree to obtain a DHS and SAPOL Clearance, as well as being able to demonstrate, ideally, a minimum of 4 years’ experience in a similar role. If you don’t meet the experience minimum but have at least two years experience and are still keen to be considered then please apply.

  • Proven track record in carpentry and general building
  • Ability to work efficiently, maintaining a clean working environment
  • Ability to work in a team environment and individually
  • Ability to work with and develop Apprentice skills and experience
  • Attention to detail
  • Customer focus and professional communication skills
  • White card
  • Current valid driver’s license
  • Proven ability to undertake manual/physical work
  • Proficiency / Tickets and experience in operation of wide range of plant & equipment and be prepared to get licenced as required.

You Must

  • Be diligent and professional in the pursuit of the job and project outcomes
  • Have effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Display excellent organisational skills
  • Be able to execute exceptional time management skills
  • Have trade certificate and/or provide evidence of on job skills
  • Have experience in Commercial and Residential Building industries
  • Display the ability to work to deadlines and strive to complete projects within the budgeted time or sooner with accuracy.
