AAT Kings in Alice Springs has a unique opportunity for a qualified Diesel Fitter to work in the role of Leading Hand. Based at our Alice Springs depot this role is an opportunity to step into a “Leading Hand” role and work in the exciting world of travel.

 

The Role

The purpose of this role is to manage the Company’s Alice Springs (ASP) vehicle workshop and ensure compliance with all relevant legislative requirements and Company maintenance standards are maintained and adhered to.

AAT Kings has a fleet modern luxury Coaches that must be maintained to the highest standard. This role will manage workflows and maintenance programs. Strong communication skill is required ensuring working relationships are strong with the NT Workshop Manager and counterparts in the Ayers Rock depot.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure preventive maintenance programme is relevant and up to date.
  • Schedule workflows, communicate and manage
  • Manage and allocate duties for repairs, servicing and scheduled maintenance
  • Provide supervision and guidance for other team members including spray painter
  • Actively assisting with Repair, service and maintain company vehicles.
  • Manage the activities of the spare parts store and oversee the purchasing and maintenance of stock levels to company standards.
  • Manage workshop budget
  • Other duties as set out in Position Description

 

The Candidate

You will be looking for a new opportunity and be committed to providing outstanding leadership and technical skill.

You will have:

  • Relevant heavy diesel trade qualification
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferrable
  • Mechanical Trade Qualified to Australian Standards
  • HR Drivers licence or we can assist as required
  • Trouble shooting skill – analyse the root cause
  • Great time management, planning and organisational skills
  • Be a strong team player
  • Someone that maintains a safe work environment for staff & our guests
