About the Business

With a history of over 160 years in the Australian and New Zealand sugar industries, Wilmar Sugar Australia operations span the value chain from sugar cane growing, sugar manufacturing, refining, exporting, and marketing, to the production of renewable electricity, ethanol and sustainable agricultural products.

To be more specific, Wilmar manufactures over half of Australia’s raw sugar, and each year exports enough electricity to power more than 68,000 Australian homes for 12 months.  As well as supplying ethanol (ethyl alcohol) to the growing fuel market in Australia, Wilmar also supplies a significant market share to various industries including the pharmaceutical, printing, cleaning, winery, aerosol, animal health and food and beverage industries.

Applicants are invited from suitably qualified candidates for a HR Truck Driver/General Labourer for the 2024 Crushing Season at Invicta Mill. These roles operate on a 12-hour rotating shift which runs from June to approximately December.  The right candidate will have the opportunity to start prior to June.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

 Bagasse Carting

  • Loading the sugar train
  • Operating other mobile plant as required
  • Completion of check sheets, service, and cleaning of equipment
  • Reporting of equipment faults and damage/incidents
  • General Mill Worker duties ie. Assists digging chokes, cleaning, assisting tradesmen etc.
  • Carry out other duties as required by Supervisor.

You will be the perfect fit if you:

 Hold a manual ‘HR’ & ‘C’ class driver’s license

  • Hold a current Loader ticket (not essential)
  • Enjoy a ‘Lifestyle’ type rotating roster, with some Overtime opportunities
  • Work safely and look after the safety of others
  • Possess excellent communicate skills, including the use of two-way radios
  • Be able to provide regular and accurate feedback on work to be completed
  • Adapt to and support ongoing change as well as any further training.

Nationally qualified Confined Space and Working at Heights training will be provided to the right candidates.
