The Locomotive Driver’s Assistant is apart of a small rail team. This position assists the Locomotive Driver with delivering bins to sidings, returning full bins of cane to the mill for processing and moving of pins and shunting of bins.

The position is a shift roster during the crushing season which includes weekend work and some overtime.

For all roles, first preference is for applicants who are willing to complete an entire crushing season which generally runs from June through to December.

Specific Requirements

Manual ‘C’ class driver’s licence
You will need to possess good communication skills to provide regular and accurate feedback. This role is a high energy position and requires a real team player who knows the importance of teamwork and does their part without being asked. Previous experience is not essential as we will provide training for a person who displays the right aptitude and fit. Training may include First Aid and other courses pertinent to the responsibilities of the position.

Other skills or tickets, such as High Risk Work Licence, Tafe Modules, or HR Drivers’ Licence may be viewed favourably, so please ensure these form part of your application

A requirement of the recruitment process is to complete a pre-employment medical which includes a urine drug screen and alcohol screen, physical and medical assessment.
